Boats Sail On The Rivers – নদীতে নৌকা চলে

Boats sail on the rivers

Boats sail on the rivers,

And ships sail on the seas;

But clouds that sail across the sky

Are prettier far than those.

There are bridges on the rivers,

As pretty as you please;

But the bow that bridges heaven,

And over tops the trees,

And builds a road from earth to sky,

Is prettier far than these.

বঙ্গানুবাদঃ

নৌকা চলে নদীতে,

আর জাহাজ চলে সমুদ্রে;

কিন্তু যেসব মেঘমালা আকাশে ভেসে বেড়ায়

সেগুলো এদের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি সুন্দরময়।

নদীর উপর আছে সেতুগুলি,

বানাও সেভাবে যেভাবে লাগে ভালো;

কিন্তু রামধনু যেটি স্বর্গের সাথে করে সেতুবন্ধন,

এবং যেটি গাছের মাথার উপর দিয়ে চলে যায়,

এবং যেটি পৃথিবী থেকে আকাশ পর্যন্ত রাস্তা বানায়,

এটি এগুলোর চেয়ে অনেক বেশি সুন্দর।
