A Sad Day For Farabi – ফারাবির একটি দুঃখের দিন

A. Discuss and answer these questions (এই প্রশ্নগুলো আলোচনা কর ও উত্তর দাও).

1. What will you do if your parents do not want you to go on a picnic with your friends (যদি তোমার পিতামাতা তোমাকে বন্ধুদের সাথে বনভোজনে যেতে না দেয় তাহলে কী করবে)?

2. What will you do if you miss the picnic bus (যদি তুমি বনভোজনের বাস ধরতে না পারো তবে কী করবে)?

Answer:

1. I shall try to convince my parents to let me go to picnic or I shall not go there (আমি আমার বাবা মাকে বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করব আমাকে বনভোজনে যেতে দেয়ার জন্য অথবা আমি সেখানে যাব না).

2. I shall hire a CNG and try to catch the missing bus (আমি একটি সি.এন.জি ভাড়া করব এবং হারানো বাসটি ধরার চেষ্টা করব).

B. Read about what happened to Farabi yesterday and answer the following questions (গতকাল ফারাবির কী হয়েছিল সে সম্পর্কে পড় এবং নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও).

Farabi was sitting with his head down (ফারাবি তার মাথা নিচু করে বসেছিল). He looked sad (তাকে বিষন্ন দেখাচ্ছিল). His hair was untidy and ruffled (তার চুল ছিল অপরিচ্ছন্ন, এলোমেলো). It was clear he did not brush it at all (এটি স্পষ্ট বোঝা যাচ্ছিল যে সে তার চুল মোটেও আঁচড়ায়নি).

What happened, Flora (কী হয়েছে ফারাবি). Are you okay, asked Flora. (তুমি ঠিক আছ, ফ্লোরা জিজ্ঞাসা করল).

I’m so shocked, Flora (আমি অনেক ব্যথিত, ফ্লোরা). I don’t want to talk, said Farabi (আমি কথা বলতে চাইনা, ফারাবি বলল).

But you have to (কিন্তু তোমাকে বলতে হবে). Any pain or sorrow is like a load in the mind (যেকোনো ব্যথা অথবা দুঃখ মনের উপর বোঝা স্বরুপ). If you tell or share it with your parents or friends, it will be lighter (যদি তুমি তোমার বাবা-মা অথবা বন্ধুদের সাথে এটি ভাগাভাগি কর তাহলে তা হালকা হবে). On the other hand, if you don’t share it, the load will become heavier and more painful (অন্যদিকে, এক্সদি তুমি ভাগাভাগি না কর তাহলে এই বোঝাটি অপেক্ষাকৃত ভারী এবং বেদনাদায়ক হবে). So please tell me what’s wrong, Flora insisted (সুতরাং, দয়া করে বল তোমার কী সমস্যা হয়েছে, ফ্লোরা পীড়াপীড়ি করল).

Farabi looked at Flora and said, One of my friends Harun is our school football team leader (ফারাবি ফ্লোরার দিকে তাকাল এবং বলল, আমার এক বন্ধু হারুন বিদ্যালয়ের ফুটবল দলের অধিনায়ক).
