Are You Listening?-2 – তুমি শুনছো কি?-২

A. Read the following poem (নিচের কবিতাটি পড়) and see how the letter ‘e’ changes the vowel sound in a word (এবং দেখ কীভাবে কোনো একটি শব্দে ‘e’ বর্ণটির স্বরবর্ণটির আওয়াজ পরিবর্তিত হয়).

Each time you see A final e You know a diphthong Or, two vowel sounds Together You are likely to hear.	নিয়ে আমার দীর্ঘ can আছে আমার একটা প্লান বানাতে হবে নতুন শব্দ পুরোনোটি হতে প্রাপ্ত। ‘can’ কে বানাই ‘cane’ ‘plan’ কে বানাই ‘plane’ করে যোগ ‘e’ আর দেখ নতুন শব্দ হয়েছে তৈরি। আমার জাদুকরী ‘e’ ঠিক যেন একটি চাবিঃ এটি পরিবর্তন করে স্বরধ্বনিকে কোনো একটি শব্দে। প্রতি সময় তুমি যখন দেখ শেষে একটি ‘e’ জেনো সেই স্বরটি হবে দ্বি অথবা, দুইটি স্বরবর্নের আওয়াজ একত্রে তুমি পাবে শুনতে।

তাহলে ‘e’ যোগে শব্দের উচ্চারন জেনে নেইঃ

plan - প্লান	plane - প্লেইন

প্রশ্ন A1. Say the following sentences aloud (উচ্চস্বরে). Notice the sound the magic ‘e’ give to the letter ‘i’.
