Morality Shop - নৈতিকতার দোকান
A. Read the conversation to know about the 'Morality Shop' ('নৈতিকতার দোকান' সম্পর্কে জানতে কথোপকথনটি পড়ুন). Then answer the following questions (তারপর নিচের প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও).
Shahana : Today I'm going to tell you about a new kind of shop, where there will be no shopkeeper (আজ আমি তোমাদের একটি নতুন ধরনের দোকানের কথা বলতে যাচ্ছি, যেখানে কোনো দোকানদার থাকবে না). The price of each item or thing will be written on a small piece of paper (প্রতিটি জিনিস বা জিনিসের দাম একটি ছোট কাগজে লেখা থাকে). This price tag will be attached to the item or items (এই মূল্য ট্যাগ দ্রব্য বা দ্রব্যসমূহের সাথে সংযুক্ত করা হবে). The students are not clear about this kind of shop (শিক্ষার্থীরা এ ধরনের দোকান সম্পর্কে পরিষ্কার নয়). They know that a shop always has a shopkeeper (তারা জানে যে একটি দোকানে সবসময় একজন দোকানদার থাকে). So they are confused (তাই তারা বিভ্রান্ত).
Sheela : In that case, someone may take a thing and go away without paying (সেক্ষেত্রে কেউ একটা জিনিস নিয়ে টাকা না দিয়ে চলে যেতে পারে).
Shahana : Nobody will do it (এটা কেউ করবে না). If anybody does, it will be stealing (যদি কেউ এটি করে, এটা হবে চুরি করা).
Ratul : Who'll see them stealing (কে তাদের চুরি করতে দেখবে)?
Shahana : Conscience (বিবেক). Do you know what conscience is (বিবেক কি জানো)? OK (ঠিক আছে). There is something in your mind called conscience (তোমার মনের মধ্যে এমন কিছু আছে যাকে বিবেক বলে). It tells you whether your actions are right or wrong (এটি তোমাকে বলে যে তোমার কাজগুলি সঠিক নাকি ভুল). Is stealing a right thing or a wrong thing (চুরি করা কি একটি ন্যায় না অন্যায় কাজ)?
Students : Wrong thing (অন্যায় কাজ).
Shahana : Then your conscience will tell you, "This is a wrong thing (তাহলে তোমার বিবেক তোমাকে বলবে, "এটি একটি অন্যায় কাজ). You must not do it (তুমি অবশ্যই এটা করবে না)." If you steal or do a bad thing, your conscience will prick you and trouble you (তুমি যদি চুরি কর বা কোনো খারাপ কাজ কর, তাহলে তোমার বিবেক তোমাকে কাঁটা দেবে এবং তোমাকে কষ্ট দেবে). And you will never have your peace of mind (এবং তুমি তোমার মনে শান্তি পাবে না). So to be a good and happy person, you should have a clear conscience (তাই একজন ভালো ও সুখী মানুষ হতে হলে তোমার পরিষ্কার বিবেক থাকতে হবে).

Sima: Of course (অবশ্যই). It is easier to purchase from a morality shop (নৈতিকতার দোকান থেকে কেনা-কাটা করা সহজ). Besides, it saves manpower because there is no shopkeeper in morality shop (এছাড়া নৈতিকতার দোকানে দোকানদার না থাকায় জনবল সাশ্রয় হয়).
Myself: Can you tell me the disadvantages of morality shop (তুমি কি আমাকে নৈতিকতার দোকানের অসুবিধাগুলো বলতে পার)?
Sima: Yes, I can (হ্যাঁ, আমি পারি). Some dishonest people may take things and go away without paying (কিছু অসাধু লোক জিনিসপত্র নিতে পারে এবং টাকা না দিয়ে চলে যেতে পারে).

Myself: What kind of shop will prefer a fixed price shop or a morality shop (তুমি কোন ধরনের দোকান পছন্দ করবে- একটি নির্দিষ্ট মূল্যের দোকান বা একটি নৈতিকতার দোকান)?
Sima: I will prefer a morality shop (আমি নৈতিকতার দোকান পছন্দ করব).
Myself: Why (কেন)?
Sima: In a morality shop, there will be no shopkeeper to bargain with (নৈতিকতার দোকানে, দর কষাকষির জন্য কোন দোকানদার থাকবে না). It will save my time (এটা আমার সময় বাঁচাবে).

Mina: Suppose you are alone in the school yard (ধরুন তুমি স্কুলের উঠানে একা আছ). Suddenly you find a hundred taka note lying on the ground (হঠাৎ তুমি মাটিতে পড়ে থাকা একশ টাকার নোট দেখতে পেলে). What you will do (তুমি কি করবে)?
Mitu: I will just pick up the money and quickly put it in my pocket (আমি শুধু টাকা তুলে নিব এবং তাড়াতাড়ি পকেটে রাখব).
Raju: It will be stealing (এটা চুরি হবে). Stealing is a wrong thing (চুরি করা একটি অন্যায় কাজ). It is immoral (এটা অনৈতিক). You must not do it (তুমি অবশ্যই এটা করবে না).
Rima: I will rather leave the note where it is lying (আমি বরং নোটটি যেখানে পড়ে আছে সেখানে রেখে দেব).
Raj: Stealing is a sin (চুরি করা পাপ). But leaving it where lying is irresponsibility (কিন্তু ফেলে রাখাটা যেখানে দায়িত্বহীনতা). If you leave it, a thief may find it (যদি আপনি এটি ছেড়ে যান, একটি চোর এটি খুঁজে পেতে পারে). He must take it away (সে অবশ্যই এটি নিয়ে যাবে).

Raju: Is it possible to open a Morality Shop in your school (তোমার স্কুলে কি নৈতিকতার দোকান খোলা সম্ভব)?
Ritu: Yes, possible (হ্যাঁ, সম্ভব). Because our school has a big yard and a special fund (কারণ আমাদের স্কুলের একটি বড় উঠান এবং একটি বিশেষ তহবিল রয়েছে). For it, we need the permission of our headteacher (এর জন্য আমাদের প্রধান শিক্ষকের অনুমতি প্রয়োজন).
Mukta: But what kind of things we keep in (কিন্তু আমরা কি ধরনের জিনিস রাখব)?
Ritu: Various items (বিভিন্ন আইটেম).
