Flora’s First Day At School (2) – বিদ্যালয়ে ফ্লোরার প্রথম দিন (২)

Flora continues her story (ফ্লোরা তার গল্প বলতে লাগল).
It took us half an hour to reach the school (বিদ্যালয়ে পৌঁছাতে আমাদের আধা ঘন্টা সময় লাগল). I saw many students on the school campus (আমি বিদ্যালয় চত্ত্বরে অনেক ছাত্রছাত্রী দেখলাম). Some were playing and some were talking to each other (কেউ কেউ খেলছিল এবং কেউ কেউ একে অপরের সাথে কথা বলছিল). I didn’t know anyone (আমি কেউকেই চিনতাম না). So I was a little afraid (তাই আমি একটু ভীত ছিলাম).
My mother soon took me to the Head Teacher (শীঘ্রই আমার মা আমাকে প্রধান শিক্ষকের কাছে নিয়ে গেলেন). He asked me a few questions and I answered them intelligently (তিনি আমাকে কয়েকটি প্রশ্ন করলেন এবং আমি সেগুলো বুদ্ধিমত্তার সাথে উত্তর দিলাম).
The Head Teacher was very pleased (প্রধান শিক্ষক খুব খুশি হয়্যেছিলেন). He put hand o my shoulder and said, Good (তিনি তার হাত আমার কাধে রাখলেন এবং বললেন ভাল)! You’re highly intelligent child (তুমি খুব বুদ্ধিমান শিশু). You know a lot (তুমি অনেক কিছু জানো). I’ll take you in my school (আমি তোমাকে আমার বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি করাব). I hope you’ll be happy here (আমি আশা করি তুমি এখানে খুশি থাকবে).
I was admitted to class 1 (আমাকে প্রথম শ্রেণিতে ভর্তি করানো হলো). The Head Teacher was a very nice person (প্রধান শিক্ষক খুবই চমৎকার লোক ছিলেন). He called a teacher and said to her, Ms Laila, this is Flora (তিনি একজন শিক্ষককে ডাকলেন এবং তাকে বললেন, মিস লায়লা, এ হচ্ছে ফ্লোরা). She is a new student in class 1 (সে প্রথম শ্রেণির একজন নতুন ছাত্রী). Take her to the class, please (দয়া করে তাকে শ্রেনিতে নিয়ে যান).
Ms Laila took me to the class (মিস লায়লা আমাকে শ্রেনিকক্ষে নিয়ে গেলেন). The class teacher welcomed me and gave me a seat (শ্রেণিশিক্ষক আমাকে স্বাগত জানালেন এবং আমাকে বসতে দিলেন). All the students in the class were staring at me (শ্রেণিকক্ষের সব ছাত্রছাত্রী আমার দিকে এক দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে ছিল). I felt a bit nervous to see all the new faces (আমি এসব নতুন মুখ দেখে কিছুটা ভীত হয়ে পড়েছিলাম). But soon I felt easy (কিন্তু শীঘ্রই আমি স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করলাম). I could make friends with two or three students sitting closed to me (আমি আমার পাশে বসা দুই বা তিনজন ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করতে পেরেছিলাম).
A new place is a new experience (একটি নতুন স্থান একটি নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা). So my first day school is a new experience in my life (সুতরাং বিদ্যালয়ে আমার প্রথম দিন আমার জীবনে এক নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা). I will remember the day as long as I live (আমি যতদিন বেঁচে থাকব ততদিন এই দিনটি স্বরণ করব).

When I was six years old, my father took me to school (যখন আমার বয়স ছয় বছর, আমার বাবা আমাকে বিদ্যালয়ে নিয়ে গেলেন). The Headteacher was my father’s friend (প্রধান শিক্ষক ছিলেন আমার বাবার বন্ধু). He asked me some questions and sent me to the class room with a teacher (তিনি আমাকে কিছু প্রশ্ন করলেন এবং একজন শিক্ষকের সাথে করে শ্রেণিকক্ষে পাঠালেন). The class teacher of class one received me cordially (১ম শ্রেণির শিক্ষক আমাকে আন্তরিকতার সাথে গ্রহন করলেন). As all the face in the class were unknown to me, I started crying (যেহেতু শ্রেণিতে সব মুখগুলোই আমার কাছে অপরিচিত ছিল, আমি কান্না শুরু করে দিলাম). But the teacher told us many interesting things and made us laugh (কিন্তু শিক্ষক আমাদেরকে অনেক মজার মজার কথা বললেন ও আমাদের হাসালেন). I shall never forget the day in my life (দিনটি আমি জীবনে কখনোই ভুলব না).
