In The House – বাড়িতে

A. Listen and Read the dialogue (সংলাপটি শোন এবং পড়).

Mother : Reza, will you come here, please (রেজা, অনুগ্রহপূর্বক তুমি কি এখানে আসবে)?

Reza : Yes, Mum (হ্যাঁ, মা).

Mother : Look (দেখ). The kitchen is very untidy (রান্নাঘরটি খুবই অপরিচ্ছন্ন). I want to make it neat and tidy (আমি এটি পরিষ্কার করতে ও গোছাতে চাই). Would you give me a hand (তুমি কি আমাকে সাহায্য করবে)?

Reza : Sure (অবশ্যই).

Mother : Could you take the pots and plates from the table and put them in the cupboard (তুমি কি পাত্র এবং থালাগুলো টেবিল থেকে নিতে পারবে এবং আলমারিতে রাখতে পারবে)?

Reza : Ok (ঠিক আছে).

Mother : First, I’ll sweep the floor (প্রথমে, আমি মেঝে পরিষ্কার করব). Will you bring me a broom, please (দয়া করে, তুমি কি একটি ঝাড়ু আনবে)?

Reza : Here it is (এই নিন).

Mother : Thank you (তোমাকে ধন্যবাদ). Now I’m going to mop the floor (এখন আমি মেঝেটা মুছতে যাচ্ছি). Could you get me a mop and bucket and some detergent (তুমি কি আমাকে একটি মুছনি ও একটি বালতি ও কিছু পরিষ্কারক পাউডার এনে দিতে পার)?

Reza : No problem (কোন সমস্যা নেই). Here they are (এই যে সেগুলো).

Mother : Thanks, dear (ধন্যবাদ, সোনা).

Reza : Welcome (স্বাগতম).

B. Act out the dialogue (সংলাপটি অভিনয় কর).

Answer:

C. Match the sentences in Column A with suitable answers in column B (কলাম A এর বাক্যগুলোর সাথে কলাম B এর উপযুক্ত উত্তর এর মিল কর). Some answers in B may match more than the one question (B এর কিছু উত্তর A এর একাধিক প্রশ্নের সাথে মিলে যেতে পারে).

Colum A:

1. Would you read the shopping list (তুমি কি কেনাকাটার তালিকাটা পড়বে)?

2. Will you go to the market, please (দয়া করে তুমি কি বাজারে যাবে)?

3. Will you buy me one little of cooking oil, please (দয়া করে তুমি কি আমার জন্য এক লিটার রান্নার তেল কিনবে)?

4. Would you buy me some rice (তুমি কি আমার জন্য কিছু চাল কিনবে)?

5. Would you need some money (তোমার কি কিছু টাকার প্রয়োজন)?

6. Would you like some tea (তুমি কি চা পান করবে)?

7. Would you switch on the TV, please (দয়া করে তুমি কি টিভিটি চালু করবে)?

8. Would you tell her to watch TV at 10 pm (তুমি কি তাকে রাত দশটায় টিভি দেখতে বলতে পার)?

Column B:

a. Certainly, I’ll do it (নিশ্চয়, আমি এটি করব).

b. Why (কেন)? Rina is watching (রিনা টিভি দেখছে).

c. No, thanks (না, ধন্যবাদ). I have enough with me (আমার কাছে পর্যাপ্ত আছে).

d. Yes, I’ll (হ্যাঁ, আমি এনে দিব).

e. Sorry, I can’t (দুঃক্ষিত, আমি পারব না). I’ve left my glasses in the study (আমি পড়ার ঘরে আমার চশমা ফেলে এসেছি).

f. Yes, I’d love to (হ্যাঁ, আমি পছন্দ করি).

g. What for (কীসের জন্য)?

Now make dialogues using the table and act it out (এখন টেবিলটি ব্যবহার করে একটি সংলাপ তৈরি কর এবং এটি অভিনয় কর).

Mamun : Yes, I would love to (হ্যাঁ, আমি চা পান করতে পছন্দ করি).

Azad : Would you read the shopping list (তুমি কি বাজারের তালিকাটি দেখেছ).

Mamun : Sorry. I can’t (দুঃক্ষিত, আমি পারি নাই). I have left my glasses in my study (আমি আমার চশমা পড়ার ঘরে ফেলে এসেছি).

Azad : Would you need some money (তোমার কি কিছু টাকার প্রয়োজন)?

Mamun : No, thanks (না, ধন্যবাদ). I have enough with me (আমার কাছে যথেষ্ট আছে).

Azad : Would you buy me some rice (আমার জন্য কি কিছু চাল কিনে আনবে)?

Mamun : Ok, How much (ঠিক আছে, কতটুকু)?

Azad : Five kg (পাঁচ কেজি).

D. Suppose your friends/relatives are coming to visit you (মনে কর, তোমার বন্ধুবান্ধব/আত্মীয়স্বজন তোমাদের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে আসছে). Write a dialogue between you and your brother/sister on making your room (ঘর গোছানো সম্পর্কে তুমি এবং তোমার ভাই/বোনের মধ্যে একটি সংলাপ লেখ). You can use words from the box (তুমি ছকের মধ্যকার শব্দাবলি ব্যবহার করতে পার).

take out – তুলে ফেলা bring - আনা push – ধাক্কা দেওয়া move - ঘোরানো hang (some pictures) – ঝুলানো (কিছু ছবি)

Answer:

Myself : Would you come here, please (দয়া করে এখানে আসবে)?

My Sister : Of course, why not (অবশ্যই, কেন নয়)?

Myself :  One of my friends is coming to meet me today (আজ আমার এক বন্ধু আমার সাথে দেখা করতে আসছে). Will you give hands in my work (তুমি কি আমার কাজে সাহায্য করবে)?

My Sister : Yes, I do (হায়, আমি করব). What can I do for you (আমি তোমার জন্য কি করতে পারি)?

Myself : Bring me some water and a bucket, please (দয়া করে আমার জন্য একটি বালতি ও কিছু পানি আন)?

My Sister : Yes, here they are (হ্যাঁ, এই নাও).

Myself : Take the pots out from the room (ঘর থেকে পাত্রগুলো সরিয়ে ফেল).

My Sister : Ok (ঠিক আছে). Will I move the table (আমি কি টেবিলটি সরাব)?

Myself : No, thanks (না, ধন্যবাদ). But you can hang some pictures against the walls (তবে তুমি দেয়ালে কিছু ছবি ঝুলাতে পার).

My Sister : Ok (ঠিক আছে).

Myself : Thank you (তোমাকে ধন্যবাদ).
